A mom-of-three has hit back at cruel trolls who accused her of ‘catfishing’ for wearing shapewear to hide her loose skin – after losing a whopping 94 pounds.
LA-based Kelsey often updates her 122,200 followers about her weight loss and health, including her battle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
The 32-year-old lost a whopping 94-pounds over the past 12 months after being prescribed mounjaro, a drug similar to Ozempic, which stimulates hormones such as insulin and glucagon which works to reduce hunger, decrease food intake, and make users feel more full.
Although Kelsey, who works in human recourses, loves how she looks now, she admits that such a dramatic weight loss can leave you with a lot of unwanted skin.
Often, she’ll smooth the loose skin over using shapewear – much to the chagrin of internet trolls who accuse her of catfishing.

After visiting multiple doctors, the mom-of-three was prescribed a GLP1 medication to help her lose weight
‘I have a ton of loose skin,’ the content creator admitted in a video addressing the comments. ‘Most of it is on my tummy but I use shapewear.’
Kelsey then demonstrated what she looks like without the shapewear, saying she’s super ‘self conscious’ about it, so the undergarment helps.
‘Spoiler alert – I wear shape wear because it makes ME look and feel good, not doing it for you, boo!’ Kelsey wrote in the caption of the clip, responding to a comment she often receives that read ‘shapewear is catfishing.’
Kelsey’s weight woes first began at school, when she started noticing she was bigger than other girls in her year when she was around 10 years old, saying it kick-started a lifetime of self-doubt, self-consciousness and cruel taunts.
‘I had a cheerleading coach tell me to “suck in my dinner” in our cropped cheer uniforms, and that’s really what started the downward spiral of my self-esteem,’ Kelsey recalled.
‘A boy in seventh grade called me chubby to my face,’ she continued. ‘I still remember what I wore because I went home and threw it away.’
Although she wasn’t considered overweight in high school, Kelsey went on to gain weight after finishing school, going from 160lbs to around 200lbs.
With the weight gain came an onslaught of health issues, including facial hair growth, acne, ovarian cysts, and an erratic menstrual cycle.

Years later, Kelsey discovered her symptoms were due to PCOS, but as a young adult she managed by eating a lot of candy – with sugary foods becoming her go-to comfort food.
But the indulgence saw her weight rise to its heaviest at 256lbs and she found herself constantly anxious about everyday tasks, such as going shopping.
‘I felt trapped. I was constantly self-conscious. I was always looking at how others looked at me everywhere I went – even in places like the grocery store,’ she recalled.
‘My mental health struggled significantly,’ she added.
‘My physical health struggled too. I could not find a doctor willing to help me control my PCOS and insulin resistance.’

Doctors continued to tell Kelsey to eat less and exercise more, but claims they never took the time to actually understand what the issue was.
Eventually the mom-of-three found a doctor willing to listen and help.
She lost 95lbs in just 12 months with the help of a tailored eating and exercise plan, as well as being prescribed a GLP1 medication, which is a type of medications used to treat type 2 diabetes and sometimes obesity.
Kelsey, who recently dropped down to working part time so she could spend more time at home with her kids, says her life has completely changed – and she loves living life in her new body.
‘My family life is amazing,’ she gushed. ‘I’m enjoying spending much more time outdoors with my kids.’
Kelsey added her 11-year-old marriage to her high-school sweetheart is also ‘thriving.’

The LA-based mom says she hasn’t been her current weight since she was in high school

Kelsey says she eats and exercises in moderation, saying she doesn’t believe in restrictive diets

The mom has become a huge source of inspiration for people who are also on weight loss journeys
The active woman, who only started posting on TikTok a year ago to hold herself accountable in her weight loss journey, says she doesn’t restrict what she eats and instead simply eats in moderation.
‘Restrictive dieting does not work in the long-term for me,’ she explained. ‘Instead, I eat everything in moderation, always have a fruit or veg at every meal, and allow myself treats a few times a week.’
She added: ‘I work out three times a week, mostly cardio – like running, walking, and hiking.’
Kelsey has also inspired people on their own weight loss journeys, particularly for women dealing with PCOS.
‘You are inspiring so many! Keep being you!’ one user gushed on a TikTok video.
‘You are def the reason I started,’ agreed another. ‘I’m only down 20 pounds since March on Ozempic but I’m not giving up!’
