Since its release on July 29th, Beyonce’s seventh solo album, “Renaissance,” has generated a lot of buzz. The well-known singer, who is married to the musician Jay-Z, appeared to allude to his scandalous infidelity while referencing the historic altercation he had with her sister Solange in the elevator back in 2014.
Queen Bey is thought to have poked fun at Jay Z’s adultery scandal in the songs “Cozy,” “Alien Superstar,” and “Plastic on the Sofa.” In May 2014, a leaked security video showed Solange attacking Jay-Z in an elevator as Beyonce watched as they left the Met Gala after-party. The Grammy-winning crooner apparently pulled the same stunt on the “Flawless” remix in 2015 where she included the line, “Of course sometimes s**t goes down when there’s a billion dollars on an elevator.”

Who did Jay Z have an affair with?
Though she never explicitly states that her husband Jay Z had an affair with her sister Solange, Beyonce’s new album “Renaissance” appears to have addressed the scandal. In the song “Cozy,” the 40-year-old makes reference to the elevator scandal, singing, “Might I suggest you don’t f**k with my sis because she comfortable. Comfortable in my skin, cosy with who I am.”
Beyonce appears to discuss taking lies from her husband in the song “Alien Superstar,” where she sings, “Keep him addicted, lies on his lips, I lick it,” and in the song “Plastic on the Sofa,” where she makes fun of the media’s focus on their relationship.
Boy, I know you can’t help but to be yourself around me, yourself around me/And I know nobody’s perfect so I’ll let you be, I’ll let you be/the It’s way that you wear your emotions on both of your sleeves/’til the face you make when I tell you that I had to leave,” Beyonce sings. “We don’t need the world’s acceptance. They’re too hard on me, they’re too hard on you, boy.”
Beyonce alluded to her husband’s alleged infidelity in her album “Lemonade” in 2016 when she referred to the woman as “Becky with the good hair.” The following year, Jay addressed the scandal himself, saying that he went “into survival mode” and had to “shut down emotionally,” which led to his infidelity.
‘Solange don’t care if y’all know’
People took to Twitter to discuss Beyonce’s apparent reference to Jay Z’s cheating scandal, saying things like, “No way, #Beyonce singing “Might I suggest you don’t f**k with my sis” in Cozy is her recalling what happened with Solange and Jay-Z in 2014,” and “I really hope Beyonce gives us a song with Solange in ACT 2.”
“lmfao beyonce getting real ratchet on church girl. ikdr. beyonce ghetto fr but downplay it cause yall do too much. solange dont care if yall know,” one user further commented. “I could care less. This is the second time she addressed this in a song. If she is not going to speak on a platform about it I could care less. If she’s doing this do songs to debunk D Child
